Snoutband is a noun. It is an old English word.
A snoutband is someone who always interrupts a conversation to correct or contradict the person speaking. This person is usually not even part of the original conversation.
Every social group has a snoutband, someone who thinks they know bloody everything. They probably don’t know the meaning of this word, though. At least, not yet.
Don’t confuse Snoutband with the music band called Snout
Snout the band has nothing to do with the word Snoutband. However, not knowing the thinking or logic behind the name of the band, who knows, maybe they were fully aware of this.
Snout were an Australian independent rock band who were formed in Melbourne in 1991 and disbanded in 2002.
I was once going to start a film company. I was thinking of names for it and I came up with the name ‘Cling’. Obviously I am fully aware that people would then start calling it cling films, which made me laugh. And in the world of company names, that’s good enough for me!
